A Celebrant arranges and conducts funeral services that celebrate the life of the deceased.
A funeral is the last time the loved one will be among family and friends and although it is a sad occasion it is also an opportunity to recall the life and times of the person… Events and achievments long forgotton or perhaps unknown can be remembered and realised.
As a Celebrant I recognise that we are all different and this should reflect on a persons funeral service.
A celebrant will gather precious memories from the family to write a personal tribute. The loved one’s life story will be the centre piece of the ceremony.
Certainly not, a family may choose a religious or non-religious service. The family also decide on the choice of music and readings.
The Celebrant will work closely with the Funeral Director whose fee will include those of the Celebrant.
The interment or scattering of a loved one’s ashes, if conducted thoughtfully, may help family and friends with the grieving process.
As a funeral service reflects on the life and times of the person who has died, so the dispersal of the ashes should also portray the character of that person.
As a Celebrant I will be happy to assist you in the planning and ultimately conduct the ceremony.
